Don’t Be Your Own Competition
You probably have common themes in your key messages that resonate with your audience, but did you know having duplicate content can hurt you in search?
Any two pages on the internet that are identical or have a lot of the same common content could be considered duplicates by a search engine. For pages that are similar, but not exactly duplicates, search results could be divided among the pages, diluting each page’s strength in the rankings.
Repurposing content helps save you time and energy in your digital marketing strategy, but don’t just copy and paste the same content. Updating previous posts with new, relevant information helps you continually appeal to your audience.
Caption This!
If you are using video in your Instagram stories (and you should be), you can now add a caption sticker that will automatically add text captions to your story.
You can record a video within the app or select one from your gallery then open the sticker tray and select “caption sticker.” You can customize the font style and color as well.
Many Instagram users watch stories on mute, so this is a great way to ensure they don’t miss your message. This is also great for accessibility and reaching deaf or hard-of-hearing audiences.
It’s All About the Experience
When the COVID-19 pandemic hit, the shopping experience changed almost overnight. Businesses had to get creative by adding curbside pick up, a greater online shopping presence, and new delivery options.
These changes have shaped the way we do business today, and some of them are going to be sticking around. Consumers like the convenience of shopping at home and picking up in store, but this can be good news for retailers too.
One thing that is for sure is that we’re not going back to how things were in the “before times.” How has your business transformed since COVID? What changes will you continue?
Are You Talking to Me?
There is a lot of noise out there, and we are good at ignoring messages that don’t apply to us. If you try to reach everyone, you end up reaching no one
First figuring out your ideal audience is the best way to create a targeted approach to your marketing strategy. Creating a buyer persona helps you create a profile of your target audience. Buyer personas describe traits like age, profession, gender, income, location, desires, and values. But you also have to understand what problem they are trying to solve.
Identifying your target audience is a foundational element in your overall marketing strategy. Make sure you have this in place if you want the best results.
What Should I Say?
So often people tell us they don’t know what to put on their website, social media, or in their email marketing. But you know stuff!
Consider if you met someone for the first time and you were explaining your business to them in person. You would probably tell them about how long you’ve been in business, nonprofits you’ve partnered with, or what products you’re passionate about. Your website should do the same.
Don’t forget to repurpose what you create across multiple channels – on social media, to your email list, on YouTube or as a podcast.
