We’re hearing about Artificial Intelligence (AI) everywhere right now. In today’s Tech News Tuesday episode, we’re talking about a topic that’s really gaining traction among small business owners: how AI can help you create content. So, should you use AI or will you just sound like a robot?
If you’re not careful, you will create boring, generic content that doesn’t resonate with your audience. While you can create all kinds of content using AI assistance, there are a few caveats and best practices to keep in mind in order to get good results.
The Importance of the Prompt
The prompt is what you enter into an AI tool like ChatGPT to tell it what you are looking for. It’s best to think of ChatGPT as an intern. The results you get are going to depend on the clarity of the instructions that you give! There are a few elements you should include in every prompt you write for marketing.
The results you get depend on the instructions you give!
Create the Context
In what context do you want ChatGPT to respond? For example, a landing page prompt might start with “You are an expert copywriter and conversion expert” This let’s ChatGPT know who it is that is writing the output.
Your Audience Persona
The next thing is to let chatGPT know who the audience for the material is. Here you’ll describe your ideal client and the action you want them to take from the content.
Your Brand and What You Offer
Describe who you are and your business and the product or service you provide, and importantly your brand tone and style.
Brand tone and style is key to not sounding like a robot. What is your brand about – are you casual, professional, humorous, quirky, empathetic – this gives guidance to the style of the results.
If you’re not sure of your style, upload some of your content and ask ChatGPT to analyze your tone and style. Then use a summary of that in your prompt.
Be Specific About What the Output Should Be
Be specific about the output you want – a blog post or a video script, how long it should be, and all other pertinent details. Once you’ve got your initial output, it’s all about refining. You can ask for expansions, adjustments to the tone, or even rewrites. Keep tweaking and refining until you get the perfect piece of content.
AI can be a valuable tool for content creation, saving you time and effort while still producing high-quality content.
Remember like an intern’s work, you will have to edit! AI is great for generating ideas and kickstarting the content creation process, but it’s your voice and brand that’ll keep it real in the long run.
