In today’s Tech News Tuesday episode we’re talking about how your customers use maps to find local businesses. Most people use maps on their phone when looking for businesses and services in their area or if they are just visiting an area while on vacation.
Apple has introduced Apple Business Connect to claim your local listing on Apple Maps.
For years we told you how important it is to have a local Google Business Profile to get your business found in search and maps. But, today we want to talk about getting found on Apple Maps. Apple Maps is the default application for iOS users, and the iPhone has a huge market share here in the United States.
Apple Business Connect
Apple recently launched Apple Business Connect which lets businesses claim and update their listing on Apple Maps. Similar to the Google Business Profile, you provide information about your business like a description, hours, photos, and other business attributes. Before this new capability, your information may have appeared on Apple Maps based on other information about you available on the web. But, now you can provide this information to Apple directly.
You can add hours, photos, and other business information to Apple Maps
The bottom line is this: Your local customers are looking for your products and services online, and you probably have claimed your Google Business Profile. There are millions of Apple users, so it is a good idea to claim your Apple Business Connect profile as well. Do it now, it only takes a minute to find and verify your business!
Claiming your listing on Apple Maps only takes a few minutes. Create an AppleID with the same email you use to manage your Google Business Profile to keep all information under one account. What are you waiting for?
