Creating successful digital marketing strategies doesn’t have to take a lot of time. There are many quick things you can do to improve your presence online. In today’s Tech News Tuesday episode, we’ve got a quick action task for you that will help you get better marketing results. We’ve previously talked about the changes Google has made to local business listings, but what should you do?
What’s Up With Google?
Google My Business is now the Google Business Profile. The Google My Business app you use to manage messages, reviews, hours and other information about your business on your phone is being discontinued in July. If you manage your Google Profile on your desktop, you’ll access your profile directly in Google Search. If you manage your Google Profile from your mobile device you’ll do this in the Google Maps app.
Take Action: Google Maps
Your action task this week is to make sure you have the Google Maps app on your phone and that it is connected to the Google account you use to manage your business listing. Setting up your Google Maps app will allow you to get notifications about messages to your business, respond to messages, and view your business reviews.
Searches are Local
About half of searches have local intent and more and more of those are being done directly from Maps. Claiming your business profile on Google and keeping it updated is easy, and it’s one of the most effective strategies a local business can use.
If you have not claimed and verified your Google Business Profile yet, that is your action task this week.
The bottom line is this: your local customers are looking for your products and services online and your Google Business Profile helps them find you.
