Happy New Year! The start of the new year is a great time to look forward. And in todays’ Tech News Tuesday episode we’re looking at an article on digital marketing trends for 2021. We’re certainly seeing some of these with our clients.
Bob: Let’s dive right in Donna. One thing is for sure is that we’re not going back to how things were in the “before times”, as you like to say. And if you’ re offering online ordering, curbside pickup, and online meetings, people really like the convenience of those, so that experience is here to stay.
Donna: Virtual events are a great example too, they started out as a necessity, but there’s a lot of benefit there too. It costs a lot less to put on a virtual event, and the event is more accessible to people who aren’t able to travel to an in-person event. There’s also some really great trends in making these online events much more interactive in terms of the connections you make, and the experience you have. Your online event doesn’t have to be a passive watching experience for your audience.
Bob: In the social media world, look for your social media channels to be used more for purchases not just discovery. We’ve talked a lot about this before, about the shopping from Instagram and Facebook, and how YouTube is also getting into the shopping game as well.
Donna: That’s right Bob and all these options make our clients head spin. They may be happy to know that really focusing on the social channels where your audience is instead of spreading yourself too thin across many channels is another one of the trends for this year. Sometimes you gain more by subtraction than by addition. Decluttering is a thing in your digital marketing too.
