Donna: And I’m Donna Botti. We’re with Delos Inc and we make the web work for you. In today’s Tech News Tuesday episode, we’re talking about how Google can highlight measures your business is taking in response to the pandemic.
Bob: That’s right Donna. These attributes will start appearing in Search and Maps soon, and they are there simply to provide clarity and reassurance to potential customers about the safety protocols you have in place, along with the options you offer for online ordering, curbside pickup, and delivery.
Donna: We’ve talked a lot about how you should claim and use your Google My Business profile and this is another reason to use it regularly to increase your visibility. You’ll find these new attributes in the info section in the Google My Business app or if you go to the Google My Business website.
Bob: For safety measures you can show things like :
- Appointment required
- Mask required
- Staff gets temperature checks
- Staff wears masks and
- temperature check required
The other attributes include options for pickup, delivery, online ordering and online appointments.
Donna: Not all businesses will see all the options; it depends on the nature of your business. Local businesses using these attributes may see more engagement and an improved response from consumers who want to do business with them, but want the assurances that it will be safe and that the information about the business is up to date.
