Bob: Hi, I’m Bob Clark.
Donna: And I’m Donna Botti. We’re with Delos Inc and we make the web work for you. In today’s Tech News Tuesday episode, we’re talking about hosting virtual events on LinkedIn. As in-person events are still not an everyday occurrence, everyone’s trying to figure out how to shift to virtual events. Did you know that you can host live virtual events on LinkedIn?
Bob: No, I didn’t. I guess every social platform is getting in the virtually event game.
Donna: Yes, I wasn’t aware of that either, but LinkedIn has been beefing up their event and live streaming capabilities as more events are shifted online.
Bob: LinkedIn has had the capability to add events and to go live for a while now, but they have sped up development of integrating the two into LinkedIn Virtual Events.
Donna: Virtual Live Events are private to event attendees who are all notified when your event is going to start. You can invite all your first-degree profile connections as well as promoting your event URL through various channels.
Bob: You have a dedicated event landing page and stream where you can generate pre-event buzz, and keep the conversation going during the event itself.
Donna: LinkedIn Virtual Events works with third party providers like Restream, so you can broadcast to other channels like YouTube, Facebook and Twitter at the same time.
Bob: After your event is over, you have the option to create highlights of the recording and share it on the video tab of your LinkedIn Page, or promote it in your feed.
Donna: As virtual events will continue to be an option for a while, consider if your audience hangs out on LinkedIn, and this might be a good opportunity for you.
