Bob: Hi, I’m Bob Clark.
Donna: And I’m Donna Botti. We’re with Delos Inc and we make the web work for you. In today’s Tech News Tuesday episode, we’re going to share a resource from LinkedIn on LinkedIn company pages. Your LinkedIn company page doesn’t get as much love as your individual profile, but there’s some valuable tools that you can use from LinkedIn to increase the visibility of your company and your brand.
Bob: Yes Donna, LinkedIn has put together a guide called The Pages Playbook. If you aren’t familiar with LinkedIn company pages, this playbook covers the basics of how to create and manage your pages, add administrators, and walks you through what exactly you need to do in order to set up a good company page.
You’ll get content ideas, best practices for updating your page, and it even includes examples of really well done company pages that you can take a look at.
Donna: If you already have a company page and are looking for more advanced tips, the The LinkedIn Pages Playbook includes those as well.
For example, did you know that when you create a company post, you can target followers by a geographic region, company-size, job titles and other filters?
Bob: I like the tips on how to increase your content engagement. As we talked about last week, video – not surprisingly – is one way to get more engagement. Videos on LinkedIn are 5x more likely to start a conversation than any other format.
Donna: One tip I particularly like is using the 4-1-1 rule. For every piece of content you share, share one post from another source, and 4 pieces of content written by others – this can be news, industry publications and the like. So share your own posts, share someone else’s post, and share some links that are relevant to your field.
Another great tip is to share your employee’s updates on the company page – we often recommend the other way around – have your employees share the brand content – as after all LinkedIn is best used for people-to-people connections. But, sharing your employee posts on the company page is another way to showcase who you are and expand your reach.
This guide is packed with best practices and tips like this so be sure to check it out.
