Bob: Hi, I’m Bob Clark.
Donna: And I’m Donna Botti. We’re with Delos Inc and we make the web work for you. In today’s Tech News Tuesday episode, we’re going to talk about what’s new with the social media app, Pinterest.
Over 320 million people around the world use Pinterest to get inspired — from finding meals they’re going to cook, to figuring out what to wear, or how to style their homes.
Bob: That’s right, Donna. There are over 200 billion ideas that have been shared and saved to over 4 billion boards to-date on the platform, providing insights into emerging trends and early signals into consumer behavior and evolving tastes.
And now they are rolling out a new tool called Pinterest Trends (It’s currently in beta.). It gives a view of the top US search terms within the past 12 months, and a look into when top search terms peak, so you can better understand how your content performs on Pinterest.
Donna: While Google Trends has long been a resource to look at trends and seasonal interest in topics, Pinterest Trends will offer another set of keyword trend data for you, specifically around the categories it caters to such as food, home, and fashion.
Knowing what people search for can help inform your content planning.
This new tool from Pinterest will be available over the coming weeks on desktop only, so be sure to check it out there.
Bob: That’s it for today’s episode. You can find the link to the article and a transcript of today’s podcast at DelosInc.com/116.
