WordPress 4.1 has new features that streamline editing your posts. Watch this video for a quick overview of what’s new.
First, the new distraction-free writing editor gives you a clutter-free writing environment. To launch this, simply click on the full-screen button on the toolbar, and all unnecessary menus and boxes are hidden leaving you with a clean white space to write your content.
The menus reappear again if you move the cursor outside of the text editing area, and disappear again when you start typing. To exit distraction free mode, press the full screen button again.
Also new is an inline formatting toolbar for images that allows you to quickly change the image alignment of an image. Click on an image inside your post and the toolbar appears directly above the image.
WordPress has added Vine videos to the kinds of media you can automatically embed. Just paste the URL of the Vine on its own line where you want the video to appear.
Finally, If English is not your native language, WordPress 4.1 now allows you to change the dashboard into any of 43 different languages. To change your dashboard language, go to Settings > General, and scroll down to Site Language and select your desired language. The dashboard and all WordPress commands will be in your chosen language.
